WHAT: Township trustee meetings July 22 and Tuesday
PRESENT: Doug Seemann, Rhonda Snyder and Jeff Waldeck
Trustees:
• Heard from resident Ken Weeks if anything was going to be done for replacing a former "Welcome to Bristol" sign.
•Hired Ray Duffield as a full-time road supervisor at $26 per hour.
•Approved having King Brothers repair a culvert on Fenton/Mahan Denman Road at cost not to exceed $3,500.
•Tabled to the Sept. 1 meeting acting on getting gutters and downspouts for the park pavilion.
•Approved getting batteries for portable radios for the fire department from Hudson Communication at $3,750.
•Approved 2-1 accepting Revival Contracting of Canfield as township contractor and for making repairs in the township. Seemann said he is familiar with the work the company has done in other communities. Waldeck cast the no vote.
•Approved spending up to $1,000 for landscaping work by the fire department sign.
•Are waiting for a speed study to be completed on Oakfield North Road.
•Reported that all township building windows that sustained hail damage during recent storms have been repaired.
•Are seeking quotes for the Old Stone Chapel slate roof.
•Reported there is no "Stop" sign needed at the intersection of Corey Hunt and Fenton Road since a through path is not a dedicated road.
•Heard from residents who asked if the township would consider hiring two people for the road department to be more effective in taking care of roads.
•Approved proceeding with repairs and excavating Sager Cemetery pending grant approval. The project includes removal off debris, at cost not to exceed $4,200.
•Were informed that a dead tree between the historic barbershop and doctor's office has been removed.
•Were informed a zoning commission member did a word search on the word "nuisance" in the zoning codes and it was only used nine times and none had to do with grass.
