Warren Twp to remember firefighter
WARREN TOWNSHIP -- The Warren Township Fire Department will have a celebration of life event Sunday for longtime fire Lt. Tom Bumgardner who died on Friday.
He served the Warren Township Fire Department for 26 years, starting in April 2000. Bumgardner also served as a firefighter/ emergency medical technician in Bristol and Champion.
The Warren Township Fire Department social media site states Bumgardner would work night shifts at Warren Township, often after he completed a shift working at LaBrae schools as a janitor. He and his wife Pam were constant figures at community events and fundraisers.
The memorial will take place noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Warren Moose Lodge, 674 Main Ave., Warren hosted by the fire department.
Girard crews respond to business fire
GIRARD -- The Girard Fire Department was called out at 1:30 a.m.Saturday to a fire at Amex Dies, Inc., a precision tool and die manufacturing company on North State Street.
A fire spokesman said the cause of the fire is under investigation and was contained to the north side of the building. There were no injuries.
Assisting Girard at the scene were fire crews from Hubbard and Youngstown.
