Part of disc golf course to close
CHAMPION -- Clarence Darrow MetroPark will have a partial closure starting today to Dec. 15 because of unplanned road work near the park.
Trumbull County MetroParks Director Zachary Svette said the partial closure affects holes No. 5 to 9 on the disc golf course as they will be unplayable. Holes 1 to 4 and 10 to 18 will be open and accessible to disc golfers.
Svette said to access the park, drivers should follow the detour signs that are posted.
Pedestrian struck by vehicle
GIRARD -- Police are investigating a recent incident of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of North State and Gordon streets.
Reports state the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday. The individual was transported to the hospital, but the identity of the person or their condition were not available Sunday night.
The report states police made contact with the driver of the vehicle that was involved in the incident.
