WARREN -- Two Warren men identified as suspects in a vehicle theft from a local business's garage early Friday are set to appear back in court today.
Jaqwan Johnson, 31, pleaded not guilty to charges of theft and breaking and entering, and Dequan Dawson, 24, pleaded not guilty to charges of theft and receiving stolen property in Warren Municipal Court.
According to a police report, officers were called to a Parkman Road NW business for an alarm drop, and dispatchers said the keyholder saw someone in the building -- adding that a red Cadillac with a white convertible top had been stolen.
Officers arrived shortly and noted the rear garage was open, the business's front office window had been smashed, and a cinder block was lying on the office floor.
Officers also noted a fresh blood stain on the window ledge, followed by multiple blood drops leading to the rear garage where the Cadillac was.
The report states the business's owner arrived on the scene shortly after and pulled up video footage that showed a black man walking around the perimeter, followed by footage of the suspect in the building, in a light colored hoodie and pants.
The footage showed the man walking to the Cadillac's location, then lifting the garage door open before entering the vehicle, then picking up a second person waiting outside, the report states, leaving on Coit Avenue towards Parkman Road.
The report states that the Ohio State Highway Patrol located the vehicle on state Route 82 and 11, and both Dawson and Johnson were located and identified before being transported to the Trumbull County jail.
Dawson and Johnson remained in the Trumbull County jail as of Monday night.
