WARREN -- The Ohio Central East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ will have its 2026 Holy Convocation today through Saturday under the leadership of Bishop David L. Herron Sr., Prelate.
Event organizers said the annual free gathering is expected to attract worshippers, clergy and guests from across Ohio and Pennsylvania -- creating a significant economic impact for the Warren area while offering a week of worship, biblical teaching, fellowship and spiritual renewal.
The Church of God in Christ is one of the largest Pentecostal organizations in the world, with millions of members across more than 100 countries.
The Ohio Central East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction serves churches throughout the region under the leadership of Herron.
Throughout the week, attendees will participate in free daytime educational sessions and nightly worship services featuring nationally respected speakers and ministry leaders.The Holy Convocation is designed to strengthen faith, equip church leaders, and encourage individuals and families from every walk of life.
The week's schedule includes nightly services at 7 p.m. with a kickoff musical today at Monument of Faith Cathedral COGIC in Warren. Speakers are Superintendent Melvin Howard Sr. on Tuesday, Bishop Marvin Moreland on Wednesday, Superintendent Demetrius Beachum on Thursday, Bishop Vincent Matthews on Friday and official day service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Warren First Assembly of God.
Events today through Wednesday are at Monument of Faith Cathedral COGIC, 904 W. Market St., Warren, and Thursday to Saturday events are at Warren First Assembly of God, 2640 Parkman Road NW, Warren.
Herron said in addition to the spiritual enrichment, the Holy Convocation is expected to provide a positive boost to the local economy.
Visitors traveling from throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania are anticipated to support area hotels, restaurants, retail businesses, gas stations and other local establishments during their stay.
A variety of vendors also will be available throughout the event, offering merchandise, ministry resources, apparel, books, food and specialty products, providing attendees with additional opportunities to shop and support local and regional businesses.
