WARREN -- A Warren man was indicted in a special grand jury report Wednesday on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools.
Corey C. Monroe, 34, of Iddings Avenue, also had a repeat violent offender specification added on to his burglary charge because he previously was convicted of committing or complicity in committing aggravated murder, murder, or an attempt to commit any of these offenses, the indictment states.
Court records show he was convicted Jan. 25, 2012, before former Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew Logan on charges of robbery and burglary.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Sean O'Brien, who set trial July 22.
The charges stem from an incident investigated by Warren police Nov. 20, 2024. The indictment states that Monroe did, by force, stealth, or deception, trespass in an occupied structure when any other person, not the accomplice of the offender was present or likely to be present, with purpose to commit theft.
