Pink Out warns of scam targeting it and its vendors
AUSTINTOWN — Organizers of the annual Pink Out Mahoning Valley Music Festival are warning area vendors to beware of a potential scam targeting them and the local nonprofit organization.
At least one vendor has reported receiving an email from vendorsspots@gmail.com directing him to “fill and submit your application form to secure your spot with us ” for the organization ‘ s Oct. 4 event. Pink Out has no affiliation with Vendors Spots.
The email, which contains a link to a Google form, is not connected to Pink Out Mahoning Valley. Pink Out Mahoning Valley/Pink Out America is a 501(c)3 that sponsors various festivals and other events for cancer patients, survivors and their families, and others with serious illnesses.
The organization hosts the Pink Out Mahoning Valley Music Festival each October. This year ‘ s event is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at Austintown Township Park.
Pink Out does not accept vendor applications through Google forms. Applications to reserve a vendor spot at Pink Out may be requested by emailing pinkoutmahoningvalley@gmail.com and communicating directly with vendor coordinator Ashley Lynn Kroll or organizer Jenah Shank.
