Men accused in break-in of fire damaged house indicted

WARREN — William Peterson, 53, of Washington Street NE, Warren, was indicted on three counts of breaking and entering and two counts of grand theft, according to a list of indictments. Aaron Boden, 29, of North Road, Niles, was indicted on one count of breaking and entering.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to the area of Belmont Street NE and Olive Avenue NE May 2, after a neighbor reported seeing two men leaving a residence that sustained heavy fire damage in March. The report states that officers located the two men, later identified as Peterson and Boden, in the front area of the property looking over a snowblower. Officers also noted there was a gray tote containing a Craftsman handsaw and hedge trimmers near the men.

The report states that the two men denied any wrongdoing, but officers discovered evidence of forced entry at a detached garage located south of the main residence.

The reporting officer later noted that a main door on the east side of the garage had been detached from the door frame.

The report states an officer contacted the neighbor later via public service, who provided a description matching both Peterson and Boden, adding that she saw the men pushing a snow blower and carrying a tub with unknown items.

The items, including a red and black Craftsman snowblower, were recovered by officers and secured back in the garage.

Jail records show Peterson has a long criminal history, including previous breaking and entering charges dating back to 2005. Both men were released from the Trumbull County jail after posting bond, jail records show.
