Man ID’d in fatal motorcycle crash
HOWLAND — The man killed Monday in a motorcycle crash on state Route 82 has been identified as Grant Sanzenbacher, 64, of Vienna, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Southington.
The patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash in which a 2022 Indian motorcycle operated by Sanzenbacher was traveling west on Route 82 in the left lane at the state Route 45 overpass.
The report states a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Joshua Mistovich, 34, of Lowellville, was traveling behind Sanzenbacher and struck the rear of the motorcycle, causing Sanzenbacher to travel off the right side of the road. Sanzenbacher was transported by Howland emergency medical services to St. Joseph Warren Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Mistovich was not injured.
Crash victim trapped inside burning car
BRISTOL TOWNSHIP– One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash around 8 p.m. Tuesday in which the driver and only occupant was trapped inside the burning car.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at Oakfield North Road NW near Mahan Denman Road NW when a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling southbound on Oakfield North Road when the vehicle went off the side of the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle caught fire with the driver trapped inside.
The patrol report states that despite lifesaving efforts by first responders, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver has not been identified.
The patrol report states alcohol and/or drug use is a suspected factor in the crash.
