SOUTHINGTON — A Hubbard man has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash May 30 on state Route 82 at Warner Road in Brookfield.
The Warren post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a news release that William H. Price, 68, of Hubbard, was traveling west on Route 82 on a 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide around 1 p.m. when he struck the left side of a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Mary K. Cook, 64, of Brookfield.
The report states Cook failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign at the intersection, causing Price to hit her Jeep on the driver’s side.
Price was transported from the scene to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital by Brookfield Fire Department and later died of his injuries. Cook was transported from the scene to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital by Howland Township Fire Department and she was treated and released, the patrol report states.
Price was wearing a helmet and Cook was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation.
Massillon man pleads guilty to animal-related charge
WARREN — A man charged in an animal cruelty case soon will know his fate after pleading guilty Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Jason A. Gribble, 46, of Massillon, pleaded guilty before Judge Sarah T. Kovoor to one count of prohibitions concerning companion animals, a fifth-degree felony.
Gribble will undergo a background investigation before sentencing.
The charge stems from a case involving a dead dog found by a maintenance worker at a rental property on Alva Avenue in Champion Township on July 17.
The animal was contained in a kennel that had empty water and food dishes, which prosecutors say had been kept there for about three months.
Warren City Humane Agent Jason Cooke led the investigation.
