July 3 fest set to mark America250
WARREN — Trumbull County Veterans Service Commission Director Cari Delgado announced at the regular commissioners meeting Wednesday that the America250 Independence Day celebration will take place 5:30 to 10 p.m. July 3 at the Warren Community Amphitheatre in Perkins Park. There will be food trucks, fireworks and other entertainment.
Delgado said the Veterans Service Commission is still looking for volunteers and cash sponsorships for the program.
Also at the meeting, the commissioners:
• Authorized acceptance of a subgrant agreement providing $55,994.86 from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office for the Trumbull County Joint Violent Crime Reduction Task Force.
• Authorized providing a notice to proceed to Miller Yount Paving Inc. of Cortland for the Golden Triangle Infrastructure Improvement’s contract A.
• Reappointed John E. Hickey, director of the Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency, and appointed Darren Mancini, residential building official, to the Trumbull County Floodplain Variance Board from March 31, 2026, through March 30, 2029.
• Approved detailed sanitary sewer drawings for the Rio Vista sanitary sewer improvements project.
• Approved detailed sanitary sewer drawings for the Hubbard Outpost sanitary sewer extension project.
• Approved detailed water drawings for the Stillwagon Road water improvements project in Warren Township.
• Adopted a resolution for the construction of the Crain Drive sanitary sewer improvements project. There will be a public hearing 7 p.m. July 12 in the Niles McKinley High School auditorium, 616 Dragon Drive, which will enable residents to express support or rejection of the project. Discussions will include the tentative amount of the capital charges and the project’s scope.
• Authorized distribution of a settlement sheet regarding the Aqueous Film-Forming Foam Products Liability Litigation. Trumbull County’s $3,489.48 share of the 3M settlement will be divided among Warren Township, Champion/Bazetta, Southwest PWS, Mosquito Creek, Howland, Mineral Ridge and Braceville.
• Approved the July 15 commissioners’ meeting to take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Trumbull County Fair Fairgrounds, 899 Everett Hull Road, during Trumbull County Fair week.
