City men arrested in Warren home invasion
WARREN — Two city men are being held at the Trumbull County jail with no bond after police said they are two of the three suspects accused of trying to break into a woman’s home last week with a sledgehammer.
Christopher Gust, 25, and Nicholas Gust, 20, who are believed to be brothers, each were arrested Friday on a charge of attempt to commit a felony, according to jail records.
A police report states three masked intruders came to the woman’s front door on Roselawn Avenue around 9 a.m. Thursday and tried to break down the door with a sledgehammer. One of the men also had a gun, the report states.
The woman was home with her child and after getting to a safe place in the home, the woman told the intruders she had a gun and had already called police, who were on their way. The men fled in a vehicle, the report states.
It is unknown if the third suspect has been identified. It is unclear how police connected them to the break-in.
Both of the Gusts are due back in court Thursday, court records show.
