WHAT: Board of education meeting May 13

PRESENT: Jared Bilas, Brooke Vondrasek, Kristina Stephens and Candy Bemus

ABSENT: Don Mickel

The board:

• Heard from Superintendent Chris Dray that new security cameras will be installed on buses.

• Accepted the retirement of Linda Mendik, an elementary school special education teacher, effective at the end of the school year. Mendik has worked in the district since 1994.

• Approved discontinuing the blended learning model at the end of the school year and instead using an online makeup hours plan for the 2026-27 school year. Dray said the online plan is for calamity days when schools are closed.

• Named Leah Haug as the Washington, D.C. trip coordinator, replacing Daniel Collins. The trip will be May 12-14, 2027.

• Approved an agreement with K-12 Business Consulting Inc. to provide forecasting services for the school district.
