Warren shows support for America250

WARREN — City Council showed its support for the national America250 celebration that marks the 250th anniversary of the United States after passing a resolution joining efforts to honor the nation’s founding and the service of generations of veterans.

At their regular meeting, Warren Mayor Doug Franklin yielded part of his report to Cari Delgado, director of the Trumbull County Veterans Service Commission, who urged the city to partner in the milestone commemoration.

Delgado took to the podium to highlight the sacrifices of veterans who have defended American freedoms for 250 years and noted that the Trumbull County Commissioners had already approved a similar resolution.

“As our nation approaches this historic America 250 celebration, we’ve paused to honor the generations of veterans whose courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment have safeguarded our freedoms,” Delgado said.

She called for the city to become “an active partner to make this celebration a combined effort and success.”

Franklin thanked Delgado for her behind-the-scenes work coordinating with local officials and expressed enthusiasm for community-wide participation in the 2026 events.
