City man dies after shooting
WARREN — The victim of a shooting in Warren earlier this month has died.
Jamar Hill, 44, was shot during a domestic incident April 17 in the 1300 block of Highland Avenue on Warren’s southwest side, according to a Warren police report.
Brianna Nichols, 24, faces charges of felonious assault in connection with the shooting and was arraigned last week in Warren Municipal Court. Nichols was taken into custody following the shooting, which happened just before noon.
Court and jail records do not list any additional charges filed against Nichols at this time.
City police arrived at the home and discovered a man with three gunshot wounds — two in the chest and one in the back of the head — according to a police news release. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for what authorities classified as a serious injury.
Police said Nichols told them her boyfriend was “coming after her,” so she shot him. Nichols previously faced charges of menacing by stalking, criminal damaging and aggravated menacing, as well as felonious assault, court records show.
The police report states officers found a revolver near a vehicle in the home’s garage
The investigation remains ongoing.
