WHAT: Board of education meeting March 11

PRESENT: Kevin Blair, Dan Denman, Tori Wiltrout and Dan Schwartz

ABSENT: Tom Donaldson

The board:

• Heard from Superintendent Kevin O’Connell of happenings in the district as he is taking over duties as not only principal at the elementary school but also as principal at the high school. The principal at the elementary school retired in early March, and the district is to fill the position for 2026-27, but O’Connell said no one has been hired yet. He said the high school principal is off for a short time, but will return this school year.

• Accepted the retirement of Melissa McConaughey as elementary music teacher with 32 years of service.
