Boardman woman facing assault charge in Warren hit-skip
WARREN — A Boardman woman accused of hitting a man multiple times with her vehicle is set to appear back in court next week, according to court records.
Brianna Daye, 30, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court to charges of felonious assault, hit-skip and driving under suspension or restriction.
According to a police report, Warren officers were called to a McMyler Street residence for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers spoke with the caller at the scene, a man, where it was determined that a woman, later identified as Daye, struck him intentionally with her vehicle, which was sitting in his driveway while he was in front of it, according to the report.
The man told officers that the vehicle’s contact caused him to fall to the ground and go partially under the front of the vehicle, and Daye reversed the vehicle and struck him again after he got up, the report states.
The report states Daye attempted to hit the man a third time when she backed into the road and accelerated forward. Daye hit a parked vehicle in the road instead and fled the scene without stopping, according to the report.
The report states the man sustained injuries on his legs, but he refused to be transported to the hospital, instead stating that he would go himself at a later time. He also provided officers with a video of Daye running him over.
Officers made their way to a Linda Drive residence, where the man said Daye would be, and a man at the residence denied her being there, saying that she had a friend pick her up.
The report states officers entered the residence after moving the man from the doorway, and a woman at the residence said officers could check for Daye.
Officers found Daye in a bedroom closet with a missing doorknob, which an officer had to use a knife to open, and she was arrested and taken to the Trumbull County jail.
Daye’s bond was set at $100,000, and she’s set to appear back in court Monday, court records show.
