PRESENT: Harry Salapata and Heidi Barker

ABSENT: Jaclyn Gerberry

The board:

• Heard from Park Director Mark Pallante of a need to review and make changes for rentals rates for park fields at the Jan. 13 organizational meeting. He said many nonprofits rent the fields, but there needs to be a way for the parks to make some money through the rentals.

• Will discuss a park renewal levy that will need to be placed on the ballot.

• Heard from 3rd Ward Councilman James Sheely, who expressed concern over the condition of Murphy Park. He suggested the basketball courts be resurfaced and hoops be put back up. Sheely said the park has had some vandalism and damage, including graffiti. Park officials said the hoops were taken down because they were broken and bent with ripped nets. Officials said there has been discussion on minor improvements.

• Approved the disposal of obsolete chairs from the wellness center via internet auction on govdeals.com. Pallante said new chairs have arrived for the park.

• Discussed continuing the military banner project in 2026 that honors residents who served in the military with biographical banners placed on poles in the downtown area.

• Approved a boys gymnastics event from March 13 to 15 at the wellness center.
