Liberty police looking for Warren woman accused of assault

LIBERTY — Township police are looking for a Warren woman accused of hitting her sister in the face at Walmart.

A warrant was issued for Savannah Johnson, 38, by Judge Jeffery Adler in Girard Municipal Court Friday morning.

According to the police report, officers located the victim near the back parking lot at Walmart, noting that her right eye was swollen, red and watering, and she was visibly upset and emotional.

The victim told officers that she and Johnson were shopping at the store when Johnson allegedly tried hiding items in her purse, according to the report. When the victim confronted Johnson about her actions, she became upset, and when they tried discussing it in the Subway in the Walmart, the victim said Johnson struck her twice in the face, according to the report.

The report states officers spoke with two security officers, who said they saw Johnson following the victim around their vehicle, yelling and screaming in a confrontational manner.

Officers checked leads and the National Crime Information Center, revealing multiple arrest warrants — one being for aggravated burglary through Summit County, according to the report.

Starting at $3.23/week.
