CHAMPION -- Because of a vacancy on the Champion Board of Education, the district is accepting applications of interested Champion residents for the position.
Board Vice President David Mahan said the seat held by Aaron Abrahamson will be open Jan. 1 and no one filed to run for as a candidate or as a write-in in the November general election.
Officials said the position needs to be filled within 30 days. Residents should contact Treasurer Laurena Rouan at laurena.rouan@championlocal.org or by calling 330-847-2337 for an application packet.
Application packets are available at the board of education offices starting today through 4 p.m. Jan. 5.
