Champion receives NatureWorks grant
CHAMPION — The township has been awarded a $45,958 Ohio NatureWorks grant to be used for improvements and additions for township property north of the cemetery and south of the Champion schools campus.
Trustee Chairman Doug Emerine said the grant will cover costs for cleaning up parts of the property and adding outdoor exercise and workout equipment for anyone who may be walking.
Emerine said the property is near the schools for any students who may want to use the equipment. The 60-acre property off state Route 45 is near the Greenway bike trail.
