Warren police investigate theft, shots fired at vape store
WARREN — Police in Warren are looking into a shoplifting that turned into a shots fired call outside a tobacco store Sunday morning.
According to a Warren police report, officers were called to the store on Elm Road around 11 a.m. after reports of three men in the parking lot and shots fired near a high school. No one was hurt in the shooting.
The report states that the witness described to 911 two men who allegedly stole a jar of marijunna from the store. Then, a man was alleged to have shot at the alleged thieves as they ran across the street toward a bike trail. The report states that the man who fired the shot fled west.
Police searched the area, but did not find the men. A shop worker said the two white men took a jar of a product called Indica Black Ice from the counter and walked out.
The worker described the white men as about 6 feet tall with average builds. They wore masks and layers of clothes. One had a gray sweatsuit, a blue flannel shirt and a camouflage mask. The other wore a black sweatsuit, a black mask and gray gloves. Security video later showed the second man had a black beard. Officers found a 9mm bullet casing on the sidewalk near the parking lot.
