Pennsylvania man dies in I-680 crash

BOARDMAN — A Pennsylvania man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night on I-680 near Route 224.

The highway was closed for three hours in both directions near milepost 12.

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Canfield Post, Alex Lowry, 39, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was driving a Dodge Charger southbound at about 6 p.m. when his vehicle struck a Nissan Rogue from the rear.

The release states Lowry’s vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway, striking a guard rail and three concrete bridge supports before overturning.

Lowry was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The report states he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Nissan drove off the roadway’s left side and overturned after striking a guard rail. The Nissan’s driver, Kylee McIntyre, 26, of Girard, was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with minor injuries.
