Ribbon cutting for health crisis center is Tuesday

WARREN -- Work is finishing up on a new behavioral health crisis center and Sister Jean's Lighthouse, a supportive housing project in Warren.

The multi-service facility, 820 Pine Ave. SE in Warren, is designed to provide 24 / 7 crisis intervention and supportive housing for women and children experiencing homelessness. A ribbon cutting will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

April Caraway, executive director of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, said the 17,080-square foot renovation will transform a former warehouse / office building, previously owned by the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, into a hub for behavioral health crisis services and transitional housing. An additional 7,670-square feet of contiguous space also is being renovated to further expand Coleman Health Services' offerings in Trumbull County.

Caraway said the facility will serve more than 3,000 individuals annually, focusing on those experiencing a mental health crisis, substance use disorder or homelessness.
