Multiple city homes struck by gunfire
WARREN — Multiple homes on Ogden Avenue NW were struck by gunfire early Sunday.
According to a Warren police report, officers recovered several shell casings, but made no arrests.
The report states that officers responded to a call about shots fired at residences in the 1400 and 1500 block of Ogden Avenue NW.
Occupants of the homes reported hearing gunshots while sleeping. One resident told police they saw a person running between two houses east of the property after the incident. Officers observed a single bullet mark on the front of one home, which skimmed the siding, but did not penetrate the structure.
The report stated, “I observed the front of the house to have been struck by one bullet, it did not penetrate the front of the home but looked as though it skimmed through the siding as if the bullet was traveling south to north.”
Police also found damage at two nearby homes on Ogden Avenue NW.
The north side of one home was struck by gunfire, and the front porch of another showed bullet damage. Officers recovered eight 9mm shell casings in the street near one of the affected homes, four more in the driveway of another, and two .45 caliber shell casings in front of the second damaged home.
An occupant of one of the homes confirmed they heard gunshots, while others were at a neighboring residence. Officers searched the area, including a fenced backyard nearby, but found no suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
