Masury man sentenced to 4-6 years on drug corruption charge

MASURY — A Masury man was sentenced Tuesday to four to six years on a drug corruption charge by Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Sarah T. Kovoor.

Jason R. Jones, 32, of Second Street, was sentenced after previously pleading guilty April 29 to one second-degree felony count of corrupting another with drugs, court records show. Jones also was ordered to pay a $7,500 fine.

Initially, one warrant charged Jones with seven counts of pandering sexually oriented content involving a minor. A county grand jury declined to indict Jones on those charges.

The sentencing stems from a June 2024, incident at Jones’ home, where a 17-year-old male overdosed on medications, including Adderall and methadone, prescribed to Jones, according to court documents.

The teen was hospitalized for several days but later recovered.

Jones was arrested in January following an investigation by Brookfield Township police, which was prompted by a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in June 2024. Police executed a search warrant at his residence, leading to two arrest warrants.

One warrant charged Jones with seven counts of pandering sexually oriented content involving a minor, while the other was for the drug-related charge.

Starting at $3.23/week.
