Valley Health Services sets grand opening Thursday

Staff report

WARREN — Valley Health Services will celebrate the official grand opening of its expanded health care facility with an open house 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at its new office, 150 E. Market St.

The event will begin with a program and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. followed by self-guided tours. Community members, partners and local leaders are invited to explore the newly transformed space.

As part of its transformation into a comprehensive provider of whole-person care, Valley Health Services now offers integrated primary medical care, basic and advanced dental services, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and an in-house pharmacy — all under one roof.

Valley Health Services began offering its expanded services first to current patients at its Market Street location (behind the Robins Theatre) in April, following its rebrand from Valley Counseling Services. Additionally, Valley Health plans to bring primary care and pharmacy to its Belmont Avenue site.

These expansions were made possible through the organization’s designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), which followed its merger with AxessPointe Community Health Centers on Jan. 1, 2024. As an FQHC, Valley Health Services provides care on a sliding fee scale and offers support with Medicare and Medicaid enrollment, helping to reduce barriers and ensure everyone in the community can access high-quality care.

Valley Health Services is a program of Axess Family Services (formerly Family & Community Services), continuing its longstanding mission of improving health and well-being in Trumbull County and surrounding areas. With more than 65 years of trusted care as Valley Counseling Services, this new chapter brings expanded services and an even deeper commitment to the community.

“We are thrilled to introduce Valley Health Services and invite the community to celebrate with us,” said Renee Klaric, director of Valley Health Services. “This is more than a name change — it’s a new era of integrated care that treats the whole person and removes barriers to health, all under one roof.”

Family and Community Services, which merged with AxessPointe Health Care in Akron, is the parent organization of SCOPE Senior Services of Trumbull County.
