WHAT: Board of education meeting Monday
PRESENT: Russell Sewell, Tim Gibson, Karen Ancell, Bradley Gamlin and Julie Shutt
The board:
• Approved 82 seniors for graduation at 7 p.m. May 23 at Packard Music Hall. The last day of school for all other students is May 30.
• Approved a renewal contract for 2026 with the Nutrition Group for cafeteria operations and management services with a management fee of $13,491 and an administrative fee of $16,190. The district has been with the company for four years.
• Hired Dawn Haught as a high school math teacher on a one-year contract, Kaitlyn Workman as a special education interventionist at Basom Elementary on a one-year contract and John Wolford as a career-based intervention specialist on a supplemental position for the 2025-26 year.
• Recognized freshman Mars Bustard for placing first in the SC Johnson Happy Hands contest. Bustard also received a Silver Key award in the Scholastics art competition.
• Approved the Trumbull County commissioners' request to use the complex auditorium for a public hearing at 6 p.m. June 4 on the Pendelton / Gilmer sanitary sewer project.
• Approved a two-year contract for Samantha Amato as secretary to the treasurer and a one-year contract to Jessica Cowger as assistant to the treasurer.
• Approved Brian Coxe as football athletic events manager on a $1,750 stipend.
