Warren man sentenced to life in prison for child rape

By Staff report 2 min read

WARREN -- A Warren man pleaded guilty this week to multiple felony sex crimes involving a child and was sentenced to a potential life term in prison.

Jeremy M. Ruble, 48, of Stiles Street NW, admitted to 18 felony counts, including first-degree rape, child pornography offenses and corrupting a minor with drugs.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice sentenced him to an indefinite prison term of 11 to 16.5 years to life.

"I can't think of a more despicable act that you can do to a minor," Rice said during the hearing, adding that he would support efforts to ensure Ruble is never paroled.

The charges stemmed from assaults on a girl who was 12 years old or younger at the time.

Prosecutors said Ruble recorded some of the abuse and investigators found digital photos of the victim.

Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman called the sentence "too good" for Ruble, who is now classified as a Tier 3 sex offender, requiring lifetime registration if ever released.

The victim, now 14, was present in court but did not speak.

Wildman read her statement, in which she described lasting trauma: "I still have terrible nightmares, and still feel his touch. ... He took away my innocence."

Wildman credited the Warren Police Department for its investigation, which found the crimes dated back to at least April 2023, reports stated.
