WARREN-- Two men are facing felony charges after police recovered multiple firearms following multiple reports of gunfire in a Warren neighborhood early Thursday morning.
Elijah Kaleil Turner, 20, of Sheridan Avenue NE, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony, along with driving without a license, a headlight violation and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
Ashaud Duane Lee Johnson, 18, of Rosemary Avenue, Southington, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and tampering with evidence.
Both men pleaded not guilty during their arraignments in Warren Municipal Court before Judge Natasha K. Natale. They remain held at the Trumbull County Jail on $100,000 bonds each.
A juvenile involved in the incident was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.
According to a Warren police report, officers responded around 12:20 a.m. to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots near Forest Street NE and Paige Avenue NE. Police spotted a dark gray Jeep traveling without headlights and conducted a traffic stop.
The three occupants told officers they had been shot at by an unidentified person dressed in black. During a search of the area, officers recovered a .45-caliber handgun missing its magazine, a rifle with a round in the chamber, and a Glock 9mm handgun equipped with a drum magazine. Additional ammunition and spent casings were found near a residence on Forest Street.
Turner, the driver, did not have a valid license, police said. Investigators also located gun magazines and loose ammunition inside the Jeep.
The suspects' next court appearance is scheduled for April 29.
No injuries were reported in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
