Warren woman pleads guilty in police chase, crash

WARREN — A Warren woman has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a high-speed police chase that ended in a crash injuring two passengers, authorities said.

Tabitha A. Flight, 37, of Porter Street NE, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular assault and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, both felonies, in connection with a Dec. 17, 2024, incident.

Flight faces mandatory consecutive prison sentences, with potential terms of 12 to 60 months for each charge, Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald Rice said.

A background investigation will be conducted before sentencing. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

According to a Warren police report, officers responded to a theft at a local dollar store. Officers spotted a vehicle matching the suspect description, but Flight, identified as the driver, refused to stop, police said.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a business at West Market Street and Southern Boulevard NW.

Flight fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended by a police K-9 unit, reports stated.

The two injured passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Starting at $2.99/week.
