Woman pleads to $7K theft at Boscov’s
WARREN — A Niles woman has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $7,000 worth of jewelry and merchandise from Boscov’s at the Eastwood Mall.
Samantha M. Melius, 29, of Olive Street, appeared before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Sarah Kovoor, pleading to the fifth-degree felony theft. The original charge was amended from being fourth-degree felony grand theft.
The defendant, who could face up to a year in prison, will undergo a background investigation before sentencing.
The incident occurred Dec. 30, 2024, when store security observed the defendant filling a bag with items from Boscov’s. Prosecutors confirmed the stolen merchandise was recovered, eliminating the need for restitution.
