Nominations sought for Community Stars

WARREN — For the 23rd year, the Tribune Chronicle will honor the brightest examples of community service and the people who do those good deeds with its annual Community Stars program.

Trumbull 100 will co-sponsor for the 15th year.

The Community Stars program celebrates volunteers who go above and beyond to make a measurable impact in the community and the lives of others. Stories about the 10 winners will appear in a special section in the Tribune Chronicle and will debut at an awards dinner on April 9 at the St. Demetrios Community Center in Warren.

“We encourage the public to nominate a volunteer who has made a difference in the community. These volunteers may be active in a church, civic organization, food pantry, etc. They don’t seek recognition but are worthy of receiving it. These nominees each contribute to making our communities a better place to live and we would like you to help us celebrate their achievements,” said Sue Shafer, community events coordinator for the Tribune Chronicle.

Last year’s community stars were:

• Kathlene Anerino of Warren.

• Ronald A. Currey of Warren.

• Barbara Drake of Newton Falls.

• Jenny Falvey of Warren.

• Andrew and Melissa Mullins of Warren.

• Sandy Mahaffey of Girard.

• Chelsea Munroe of Cortland.

• James Rapone of Warren.

• Jordan Taylor of Warren.

• Jack Thornton of Warren.
