Niles crews respond to fire at BRT Extrusions
NILES — The Niles Fire Department was called Tuesday afternoon after heavy smoke was seen coming from a building at BRT Extrusions, 1888 N. Main St.
A spokesperson at the police department said they received a call at 2:11 p.m. of a large fire in the paint department booth inside the manufacturing building. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly and left the scene before 4 p.m. The fire was in a contained area and included cooling off equipment.
There were no injuries. Heavy smoke could be seen and a smell of something burning in the area of North Road SE and North Main Street.
Fire officials said cause of the fire is still being investigated.
