U.S. Rep. Dave Joyce, who represents all of Trumbull County, was reappointed to serve as chairman of the House Appropriations Committee's Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee.
Joyce, R-Bainbridge, was initially appointed in April 2024 to lead the subcommittee.
"As chairman, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues to bolster the strength of the U.S. financial markets while ensuring fiscal responsibility," Joyce said. "With a Republican-controlled House, Senate and White House, I have no doubt we will advance a commonsense, conservative agenda using the power of the purse."
The committee has appropriations jurisdiction over several federal agencies, including the IRS, Department of Treasury, District of Columbia, Judiciary, Executive Office of the President, Securities and Exchange Commission, Small Business Administration, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Office of Personnel Management and the U.S. Postal Service.
Joyce has served on the Appropriations Committee for the 12 years he's been in the U.S. House and as a member of Financial Services and General Government for six years.
He is the 10th most senior Republican on Appropriations.
Joyce will continue to serve on the House Subcommittees on Defense; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development.

Joyce also relaunched two bipartisan caucuses -- the Congressional Nursing Caucus and Congressional Addiction, Treatment & Recovery Caucus -- with him serving as co-chairman of both.
The Nursing Caucus works to address the nation's nursing shortage, bolster the workforce pipeline and provide nurses with the resources and tools to serve their patients. Joyce's wife, Kelly, is a nurse.
The other caucus works to advance bipartisan solutions to the country's addiction crisis, as well as raise awareness among lawmakers about addiction with a focus on increasing support for expanding access to prevention, treatment and recovery services.
