WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday.
PRESENT: Anna Martin, William Cummings, Josh Barr, Donald Newell and Amanda O'Neill.
The board:
• Accepted the following donations: $5,000 from T-Mobile to the school's athletic department; $4,000 from HEPA to the elementary principal's fund; $375 to the athletic department for high school football helmets from David Hamrock; a $1,000 donation from Hubbard Handyman and five separate $250 donations from Greenwood Chevy, Cody Pitts Foundation, Eagle Grill and Tavern, Duvall Group powered by EXP Realty and Hubbard Music, to Eagle Essentials, the school's food pantry.
• Approved requested FMLA for the following teachers: Michael Kacir, Kelsey Calascibetta and Gianna Thomson, as well as guidance counselor Holly Marshall, per Hubbard Education Association negotiated agreement.
• Approved paying a $400 stipend to Kristen Chufo and Tracy Greenamyer for completing Units 5-8 of the LETRS Training. The stipend is to be paid from Title II-A funds, upon completion of the training.
• Accepted the resignation of Lily Boylen, swim coach and swim lesson instructor, effective Nov. 8.
• Approved Mary Lisa Shattuck as a Hubbard High School English Language Arts substitute teacher, effective Nov. 4, for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
• Approved Bettyann Spiech for the first-grade teacher support position for the 2024-25 school year.
• Approved hiring Amy Martin as a 90-day tutor for Hubbard Elementary School. She is to be paid out of Title I Funds.
