Court accepts child porn possession plea
WARREN — A Warren man has admitted guilt in a case involving the possession of child pornography.
Tobias Schmucker, 21, of Pacific Place NW, pleaded guilty Monday to 16 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, all second-degree felonies.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which uncovered files depicting child exploitation on the defendant’s devices.
As part of a plea agreement, both the prosecution and defense recommended an indefinite prison term of four to six years, but the final sentence will be determined by Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice following a probation department background investigation.
