HOWLAND -- The Ohio Department of Transportation is proposing a new traffic signal at the intersection of state Route 46 and Howland Springs Road.
The project is in its engineering phase, according to an ODOT news release, but construction is scheduled to begin sometime in the fall of 2025. Engineers anticipate that two-way traffic can be maintained on the existing road, although some traffic interruptions may occur.
No lane closures will be permitted between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. when traffic volume is expected to be high because of rush hour, the release states. When stoppages do occur, they are limited to less than 10 minutes in any 30-minute time period.
All adjacent properties, businesses and side streets should be accessible during the construction phase of the project.
ODOT seeks comments from the public on any concerns related to residents, businesses, the local economy, historic or cultural resources that might be affected by the project. Comments or concerns should be directed to Sean Carpenter, ODOT environmental specialist, at sean.carpenter@dot.ohio.gov.
