WARREN -- The Trumbull County Relay For Life that took place Saturday at the St. Demetrios Community Center raised $58,932 for American Cancer Society research.
ACS officials posted on the Relay website that their goal was to raise $77,000, but the event raised nearly $59,000. The steady rainfall on Saturday during the Relay For Life could have kept attendance down, officials said.
Besides raising funds for cancer research, the event also generates money for patient support programs, celebrates those who have beaten cancer and remembers those lost to the disease.
