WHAT: City Council meeting Monday
PRESENT: President Kevin Piros, Vice President Don Moore, Jim Bradley, Kathy Fleischer, Richard McClain, John Picuri, Scott Rowley and Mayor Deidre Petrosky
Council:
• Approved the wage rate of $45 per hour for seasonal part-time employee Frank Martin. Service Director Kimberly Blasco has reviewed and approved the qualifications of Martin to serve as a part-time seasonal employee to perform construction inspection for the Fairway Drive bridge replacement project until its completion.
• Authorized Mayor Deidre Petrosky to sign an amendment to the Master Agreement with Dynegy Energy Services (East) LLC for the supply of electricity for an additional 12-month period to provide electric distribution services to an aggregated group in the city through July 2025.
• Authorized Petrosky to place her signature on the replat of lots 51 and 52 – Village Park Estates.
• Authorized Petrosky to place her signature on the Replat of Lot 108-A and Lot 110-A of the Walnut Run Estates phase 3, and replat of lots 111 and 112 of Walnut Run Estates Phase 3, being part of Section 60 of former Fowler Township, and situated within the city.
• Authorized an application to participate in the Ohio Ambulance Transportation Impact Industry Program for the Cortland Fire Department and to execute the necessary contracts as required. The Cortland Fire Department had identified the need to support workforce relief costs incurred during the pandemic by applying to participate in the program to receive grant funding of up to $20,000.
• Approved the semiannual payment of to the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer's Office for the Ohio Water Development Authority on the Mosquito Creek Wastewater Plant Project. The total cost to upgrade the plant is $39,067,250.35. Trumbull County obtained an Ohio Water Development Authority loan in the amount of $32,830,525.65 at 1.78% for 25 years with loan payments starting Jan. 1, 2022 and ending on July 1, 2046. The total cost of the semi-annual payment is $294,262.22.
• Set the wage and established the terms of employment for Special Projects Coordinator Jeffrey Jiang at a rate of $18 per hour, at 30 hours per week for the city. Jiang also will receive a monthly cell phone allowance of $40.
• Authorized Petrosky to enter an agreement with Executive Computer Management Solutions, Inc. to perform domain migration services for the city at a total cost not to exceed $6,288.75.
• Authorized the funding of paramedic training for two part-time firefighters. The fire department applied for the Incumbent Worker Training Program administered by the Ohio Means Jobs of Trumbull County for the reimbursement of $13,000 in paramedic training for firefighter William Clark and firefighter Brooklyn Youngblood.
• Set the wage and established the terms of employment for the Interim Utility Operator Russell V. Masaitis in the service department to perform water inspection for the city on a part-time basis at $300 per day, expected not to exceed one week.
