WHEN: Monday

PRESENT: John Moliterno, Sam Zirafi, Lily Martuccio, Keith Schubert, Thomas Grumley, Mark Standohar, Jeff Kay, Reynold Paolone and Mayor Mark Zuppo

Council:

• Heard from fire Chief Jim Petruzzi the city, in cooperation with the Girard Multi-Generational Center, received an $8,000 grant for lock boxes and carbon monoxide detectors for senior citizens. Contact the center for getting the items. Firefighters will help with installation.

• Approved hiring a full-time laborer for parks and recreation at $31,200.

• Approved hiring four temporary seasonal workers to work up to 29 hours per week April 1 to Oct. 1.

• Heard from Safety / Service Director Sal Ponzio the municipal building roof was checked for leaks by Boak and Sons. He said officials will see what work can be done this year.

• Approved legislation to enter into a contract with Miller Builders at $330,780 for construction of a salt barn.

• Set an Easter egg hunt 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 30 at Tod Park and an Earth Day cleanup April 13.
