Jeremy Cox, 45, sentenced in child rape case

WARREN — A Warren man was sentenced Monday to 10 years to life in prison, a day before he was set to face a jury trial on sex-related charges.

Jeremy Cox, 45, of Vernon Avenue NW, was sentenced by Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Cynthia Rice after pleading guilty to an amended indictment on three counts of first-degree rape and fourth-degree gross sexual imposition.

The victim, who was 12 at the time prosecutors say Cox forced sexual intercourse with her in the fall of 2019, spoke briefly, thanking Rice.

Cox was labeled a Tier 3 sex offender, meaning he will be required to register his address with the sheriff’s office in his county of residence every 90 days for the rest of his life if he is released.

Starting at $3.23/week.
