WHAT: Board of Education meeting Feb. 21
PRESENT: Ronda Bonekovic, Sarah Kurpe, Derek Mihalcin, Jerry Necastro and Melissa Sydlowski
The board:
• Authorized a contract with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, for stadium lighting for more than $50,000.
• Approved entering into a contract with Outdoor Aluminum for the stadium and press box, for more than $50,000.
• Accepted donations for the food pantry and for the high school library. Swartz's Barber Shop donated $131 to the food pantry, Mr. and Mrs. Kaszowski donated food to the pantry, the family of David W. Snyder donated 3 ECHO Yearbooks to the library and Wilma Cwynar donated handmade winter hats.
• Approved a motion to make April 8 an early release day for students because of the solar eclipse.
• Approved a motion to offer college credit courses through Kent State University.
• Approved a motion to offer college credit courses through Stark State College.
• Approved the resignation of cook's helper and cashier, Alisha Davis, effective Feb. 16.
• Approved Alexis Snyder for the Family Medical Leave Act, effective April 15 through the beginning of the 2024-25 school year.
• Approved Jessica Zebroski Flanagan for FMLA effective April 22 through November.
• Approved Megan Totten for FMLA, effective June 20 through Jan. 31, 2025.
