WARREN -- An investigation is underway after a woman was rushed to the hospital with two gunshot wounds Sunday morning, police said.
City police were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the 2000 block of North Feederle Drive SE and found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
As police arrived they observed bullet holes in a window. Inside the home, officers said they saw blood on the floor of the hallway.
The woman was found lying on the bathroom floor as her husband kneeled beside her applying pressure to the wound, the report states.
The woman told police they were eating at a table when she heard "the pops."
She said she then dropped to the floor as she told police she began feeling what she described as "two hard punches."
According to the police report, she had been shot twice in her lower back and was grazed on her left side.
She told police she wasn't the homeowner, but her father was. She told officers she wasn't aware of any problems he has had.
The woman's husband later described the moments leading to the shooting, telling officers they were having dinner as his wife sat with her back to the window, and he sat with his back to the hallway, while a third man was facing the window.
When the shooting started, the victim’s husband told police he jumped to the floor before dragging his wife to the bathroom where he phoned
911.
The man told police he may know the shooter, telling police that the suspect goes by "E" or "Eastbound."
