WHAT: Trumbull Council of Governments organizational meeting Wednesday
Council:
• Named Phil Pegg of Vienna as president and Deidre Petrosky of Cortland as vice president.
• Will have Shirley McIntire of West Farmington represent the smaller communities, Jerry Crowe of Hubbard represent the larger communities and Mauro Cantalemessa represent the county commissioners.
• Will have Gary Lees of Brookfield serve as an adviser to the board with no pay.
• Recognized James Lapolla for his six years of service as president. His term ended in 2023.
• Discussed getting other communities not with the COG as members.
• Reported the county brush hog program is in place with communities able to schedule use of the equipment.
• Announced the continuing of the demolition program after it was cleared by the state last year as an acceptable function of COG.
• Set meetings for 6 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Howland Township administration building on a quarterly basis, with meetings in January, April, July and October.
