WHAT: Township trustees special meeting and organizational meeting Dec. 28
PRESENT: Bruce Bancroft, Jamin Banning and Greg Leonhard
Trustees:
• Received from Valley Title the recorded deed for 0.5063 acres of land donated to the township by resident Richard Thompson. The land is located on State Street adjacent to the Kinsman Greenspace. The property eventually will allow access from State Street to the Greenspace property.
• Announced that reflective address street numbers have been purchased with American Rescue Plan money. They were done by Stahl Printing for $3,700. The funds were donated from the Tip a Cop event and Shop with a Cop donations. Trustees said they may need more house numbers because more residents are inquiring. They approved spending up to $500 of the township's American Rescue Plan money on additional numbers if needed.
• Reported the Ohio Department of Transportation has received the agreement for permission to place pedestrian crossing signs at Action Physical Therapy and across the street at the parking lot used by the business' patients.
• Purchased a John Deere 950 zero-turn mower with a mowing deck for $10,235. A trade-in will be minimal.
• Heard from police Chief Thad Stephenson that he had a meet and greet with Federal Bureau of Investigation officials of Cleveland and Youngstown. They came to the administration building and offered their services if they are needed in the future.
• Heard from Leonhard about the water problem on Ray State Line Road when the Army Corps of Engineers called. A resident who owns the property will have to retrench where he buried the small creek.
