WHAT: City Council meeting Jan. 16
PRESENT: President Kevin Piros, Vice President Don Moore, Jim Bradley, Kathy Fleischer, Richard McClain, John Picuri, Scott Rowley and Mayor Deidre Petrosky
Council:
• Approved the third and final reading of an amendment to an ordinance proposing purchasing procedures for the municipality.
• Approved third and final reading of an ordinance authorizing the police chief to enter into a two-year subscription for eight Flock cameras and professional services from Flock Safety.
• Approved second reading of an ordinance creating the position of assistant service director for the City of Cortland and establishing the wages, between $16 and $23 per hour, benefits and terms of employment for the position.
• Approved a resolution authorizing the clerk of council to advertise for bids for the City of Cortland asphalt resurfacing project, estimated at $250,104.
• Approved an amendment to an ordinance creating and establishing the wage of $16 per hour, benefits and terms of employment for the position of part-time fire inspector.
• Approved an ordinance authorizing the police chief to purchase an integrated dash / body camera system for the new Police Ford Interceptor SUV, not to exceed $7,085, from Midwest Public Safety.
• Approved an ordinance creating and establishing the wage rate of $25 per hour for the position of part-time electronic technician in the police department.
• Approved Rhonda Horn, clerk of council, as public records training designee for city council.
Approved Terri Barnovsky, assistant finance director, as public records training designee for the mayor's office.
• Approved the organization of 2024-25 council committees.
