What: Brookfield trustees meeting Monday
Present: Shannon Devitz, Mark Ferrara, Daniel Suttles and Fiscal Officer Dena McMullin.
Trustees:
• Appointed Mark Ferrarra as chair.
• Appointed Shannon Devitz as vice chair.
• Appointed office coordinator Tabatha Dickson and Candy Schofield to take minutes in the fiscal officer's absence.
• Appointed McMullin as chief financial officer and Road Supervisor Jaime Fredenburg as project manager of the 2024 Trustees Road Program.
• Approved a motion to hold meetings on the first Monday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Township Administration Building unless otherwise noted.
• Approved motion to spend up to $2,000 for departmental needs without prior approval of the trustees, but required to have a purchase order.
• Approved a motion to rehire Tabatha Dickson for 2024 as a full-time office coordinator.
• Approved a motion to rehire Jaime Fredenburg as road superintendent for the year of 2024.
• Approved a motion to hire Peter Ross as exterior property management code officer.
• Set the date for the Brookfield public Easter egg hunt for March 30. They are planning for it to be at the township park.
• Announced the opening of a new Dollar Tree in Brookfield.
• Approved a motion allowing fire Chief Dave Masirovits to enter a one-year contract with Pro-Air for testing and maintenance of the breathing air cascade system for $1,474.
• Approved a motion allowing Masirovits to enter into a contract with Fire Force Inc. for annual testing of the self-contained breathing apparatus and respiratory protection masks.
• Approved a motion allowing Masirovits to enter a contract with Howell Rescue Systems for annual testing on hydraulic rescue tools and battery operated tools for $1,030.
• Approved a motion to raise the pay rate of Firefighter Joseph Milano from a 90% to 100% pay rate, effective Feb. 1.
