WHAT: Township trustee meeting Jan. 9

PRESENT: Doug Seemann and Jim Cicchillo

Trustees:

• Appointed Jeff Waldeck as trustee effective Jan. 9 to fill the vacant two-year term of Ramon French. Waldeck was selected from three applicants.

• Heard from Major Tony Villanueva and Trumbull County Sheriff Paul Monroe went over the sheriff's office's patrol contract and spoke about the renewal for this year.

• Approved placing a tax lien for $22,000 plus interest on a property at 6233 state Route 45 for the demolition costs of the Bristol Inn.

• Announced the Fire Department Dependency Fund Board will meet Jan. 23. The board will consist of Ken Weeks, Steve Craiger, Chuck Hudack, Cicchillo and Seemann.

• Heard from fire Chief Steve Craiger the department received a 100% MARCS grant of $8,878 for five pagers, two new portable radios and user fees for one year.

• Hired Thomas Domes as firefighter / emergency medical technician.

• Appointed Craiger as a representative to the Emergency Management Agency.

• Hired Valley Title to search the six parcels to be added to the zoning map at $235 per parcel for a total of $1,410.

• Appointed Ken Weeks to the open one-year term on the zoning board, Kurt Holko to a one-year term as alternate to the zoning board and Charles McMonagle to a five-year term as zoning board of appeals, all effective Jan. 1.
