WARREN TOWNSHIP -- An arrest was made in connection to the fatal house fire that killed two people early Sunday morning at a home on Miller Street SW.
Carroll Bruton, 73, is in custody having been booked on murder and arson charges for the fire that left two people dead.
Bruton was arraigned in Warren Municipal Court Monday where Judge Patty Knepp deemed him a risk of "serious harm" and revoked his bond as remains in Trumbull County Jail.
Ahead of his next hearing a risk assessment was ordered by the court and a bond review hearing is set with a preliminary hearing Jan. 16.
According to court records the victims were 82-year-old Roscore Toles and 51-year-old Etianne Whitaker.
Fire crews were called at 3:39 a.m. Sunday to a two-story residential, wooden structure in the 800 block of Miller Street SW. A fire department spokesman said two adults died at the home.
According to a fire report, crews arriving at the scene said they could see flames throughout the house. Mutual aid was requested as the roof and second story collapsed.
Crews also found a power-line hazard in front of the structure.
Neighbors told firefighters that three people lived at the structure, but only two were possibly inside.
